- We are all related! Going back 60 generations (somewhere around the time of Christ) each of us has a potential of 1,152,921,504,606,850,000 direct-line ancestors. Since there weren’t that many people alive on the earth at that time, it is obvious that each of us are related to some of our ancestors thru multiple lines. Many of us who have been able to trace some of our ancestral lines back 10 or so generations have found that we are related to an individual not only as one of his son’s descendents, but also thru another of his children’s descendents.
